‘Our job is to keep the peace,’ Sheriff Lott discusses partnership with Police2Peace

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) — Sheriff Lott held a press conference at the SC Statehouse where he discussed a new component of Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s continued partnership with Police2Peace.

Lott spoke at the Law Enforcement Memorial, a memorial honoring 308 law enforcement officers who were killed on duty since 1797.

Sheriff Leon Lott said over the years, the meaning of law enforcement has changed.

“Our job is to keep the peace,” Sheriff Leon Lott said. “We are peace officers.”
