Mindfulness Meditation Training

Mindfulness Meditation Training is an evidence-based program that offers mainstream, intensive cognitive training to address stress, anxiety, depression, and pain.   When studied in police officers and military veterans, this training resulted in reduced PTSD, burnout, anger and fatigue, and increased resilience and emotional intelligence allowing them to make better decisions while at work in their communities and in the field.

Based on the practice of mindfulness meditation, this training employs the technique of bringing one’s attention to the present moment for a sustained period of time. Once learned, it can be applied to basically every aspect daily life, from doing chores to being on a patrol shift.

Mindfulness has long been studied in first responders with measurable results.   Research has shown that mindfulness training improves one’s ability to cope with stress, improves brain functioning for better awareness, enhances concentration and sharpens decision making. The result is often better job performance, increased overall well-being and fewer incidences of mental illness.
